CMC Looking to the Future
The Children's Media Conference took place last week in Sheffield, UK. The gathering of the great and the good, the new and the old, the artists, the writers, the creators and the makers - all gathered under one warm Sheffield roof.
The most notable take out for me, aside from the unlimited energy of the animal and planet champion young changemaker was how the discussion has turned to what happens now that the government has closed the YACF (Young Audience Content Fund). The discussion was lively, enthusiastic, and full of ideas and suggestions, which sadly are likely to fall on deaf ears.
But the children's TV industry will battle on, and fight for the rights of children to have the very best in entertainment and learning content on their screens. And from what I saw, the fight is going to step up a gear.
